Our Story

Helix Earth Technologies
Founded 2022 · Houston, TX
The technology at the heart of everything we do was developed at NASA. Not inspired by space. Not metaphorically reaching for the stars. Actually built at one of the most demanding R&D environments in human history, where the air inside a spacecraft has to be perfectly controlled because there is no margin for error and no window to crack open.
When Dr. Rawand Rasheed brought that technology back to Earth, the question was not whether it worked. The question was: who else needs this? It turns out the answer is everyone. The buildings we work in, the warehouses storing our food, the hospitals treating our sick, the factories building our future all have the same problem. Visit Helix Earth

How We
Operate

NASA discipline · real-world air · small team, outsized stakes.

Mission Control Thinking

At NASA, there is no such thing as a small problem. A loose seal, a miscalculation, an assumption left unchecked can cascade into something catastrophic. The culture is one of radical ownership, precise communication, and an almost obsessive commitment to getting it right. We carry that here.

It does not mean we are slow or bureaucratic. It means we do not guess when we can know, we do not assume when we can confirm, and we do not let a problem sit because it belongs to someone else's lane. When we see something off, we say something.

The Air We Make

Our mission is to advance the industrial and liquid-gas chemical processes that save energy, clean air, and support life for a better future. That is not marketing language. It is the literal description of what our technology does. The Helix MICRA™ filter removes moisture from air streams at a level of precision that was previously only possible in controlled aerospace environments. We are now deploying that at commercial scale, in the places where people live and work every day.

Every person on this team is part of making that real. Not just the engineers. Not just the sales team. Everyone who moves this company forward contributes to the air quality of the spaces we touch.

Remember that when the work feels routine. It is not.

Small Team, Serious Mission

We are not a large company. We are a small team working on a problem that matters at a global scale. That combination is both a privilege and a responsibility.

The privilege is that our work is visible, our impact is direct, and our voice carries weight in decisions that actually matter. There is no layer of management between us and the outcome. We can see the thing we built, the deal we closed, the system we designed, doing its job in the world.

Owners,
Not Passengers

We do not manage people by telling them what to do and checking that they did it. We give people context, resources, and trust, and we expect them to operate like owners of their domain.

Honest
Over Comfortable

The most respectful thing we can do for a colleague is tell them the truth. Not the softened version, not the version that avoids conflict. The actual truth, delivered with care.

Move with
Precision

Speed matters in a startup. But reckless speed creates drag. Wrong hires, bad decisions, technical debt, trust deficits. We aim for the combination that aerospace engineers would recognize: move as fast as the work allows, and no faster.

One
Crew

We have functional areas: engineering, product, operations, sales, manufacturing. But we do not have functional silos. The work flows across all of them, and so does the accountability.

Know Before
You Launch

We say this not to filter people out, but because we think clarity upfront is more respectful than surprises later.

Helix Earth tends to be a great fit for people who want their work to matter, who are energized by ambiguity, who want to be part of building something from early stage to scale, and who can operate with high autonomy and hold themselves accountable.

"A strong fit if you want impact, can handle ambiguity, and hold yourself accountable in an early-stage build. Less so if you need a rigid playbook or a narrow job descriptionand that is fine."

"We hire people who would rather matter than be comfortable."

Liftoff Is Just
the Beginning

Helix Earth spun out of Rice University and NASA in 2022 with a technology, a license, and a mission. Since then, we have signed over $200MM in LOIs, reached commercial scale, confirmed our manufacturing partner, and begun field testing. This is real traction, but it is only the start. We are building a platform with applications far beyond the $150B air conditioning market, and joining now means helping lay the foundation while it is still early.
